Experience
I am an energetic, passionate and professor tutor with patience and creativity to engage my students into interesting and effective study to meet their learning objectives. Though I’m a native Chinese speaker, I was majoring in Chinese Language and Literature and received professional trainings in my four years’ undergraduate study. And I achieved first level (received pronunciation) in the National Putonghua(Mandarin) Test by The State Language Work Committee. With more than four years’ part-time Chinese tutoring experience for American teenagers and America-born Chinese kids in the US, I enjoy teaching with lively activities and games embedded with clear phonetics and grammar easy for the students to understand. Also, I taught diverse groups of undergraduates Public Speaking for more than two years in my university, and I’ve been adopting a wide variety of teaching techniques to support my instruction, such as team-based learning, case studies, small group debates etc. I’m friendly and amiable to get along well with students from different cultural backgrounds, and I respect their diverse cultural customs and encourage them to take advantage of them in the class. I have also looked to supplement my teaching with my academic preparation and my professional experience in Communication. Through my teaching of Public Speaking, I hope all my students to grow not only academically, but also personally and professionally.
